It's more than two years, when India locked horns with minnows Afghanistan in a World T20 fixture at Gros Islet in the Caribbean where India won by a handsome, seven-wicket margin

In reply to Afghanistan’s 115-8, India achieved the target losing only three wickets with 31 balls to spare. Tamil Nadu opener Murali Vijay was the star performer with his 46-ball 48 on his T20 international debut. Put into bat, the Afghans failed to tackle the pace trio of Ashish Nehra (3-19), Zaheer Khan (1-24) and Praveen Kumar (2-14). Only two of their batsmen opener Noor Ali Zardan (50) and Asghar Stanikzai (30) managed to reach double figures.

However, chasing a modest target of 116, India lost Gautam Gambhir (4) in the third over, but Suresh Raina (18), Yuvraj Singh (23 not out) and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (15 not out) ensured there were no further hiccups. Ashish Nehra was adjudged the player of the match.
