All you eco warriors out there can head to the Vasundhara International Film Festival, where film screenings as well as other activities focusing on sustainable living have been organised

Environmental film club Vasundhara will be organising the sixth Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival in the city from February 16 onwards. The vision of this festival is to preserve, protect wildlife and save mother earth for future generations. The eight-day environment festival includes screenings of Indian and international films along with other activities.

The theme of the event this year will be sustainable lifestyle for all and the need to preserve the biodiversity of places such as the Western Ghats. A person who has dedicated his life for the cause of the environment will be honored with the Vasundhara Sanman. The awards consist of a memento, citation, shawl, shreefal, and gift.

Three Vasundhara Mitra awards will be presented for three categories -- activism, film making and organisation.
Delegates will get to visit the local nature hotspots and gather information about trees, birds, mammals, flowers and historical structures. Sanctuary Asia's photographs will be the special highlight of the festival. And this year there will be an exhibition of eco-friendly products as well.

Special audio-visual lectures will be arranged during the festival where current issues will be discussed. Books related to environment, wildlife, energy, air and water will also be exhibited. The delegates will have to write a 20-word slogan and idea during the festival. Five of the best slogans and ideas will be awarded. A tree on the campus will be marked as the Commitment tree andu00a0 decorated with lights for delegates to pin up slogans. There will be a two-hour children's workshop daily where children from 15 schools will participate.

For youngsters, there will be a Young Green conference on Pune's environmental issues where 500 collegians will take part and green resolutions will be discussed. Plus, various workshops will be conducted for children, women, filmmakers and photographers. Also watch out for the open forum and eco-friendly fashion show.
