Reportedly two masked assailants made a friendly entry into their house, killed the man and left the woman unhurt

In an incident of murder, Arti, wife of businessman Virender Sachdeva alias Sonu (43), who was stabbed to death by unknown persons in Moti Nagar area on Wednesday morning, is now under the police scanner.
Police said Sonu was brutally attacked and stabbed while Arti, his wife, was left unhurt.

"The entry of the assailants was friendly and they did not rob the family. Arti said she fell unconscious when the assailants attacked her husband. She came to senses after an hour, after which she raised an alarm. We are not sure about some of the statements made by her and therefore, she has become a suspect in the case," said a police official.u00a0

Hidden agenda
The official said that two masked men entered Sonu's house in the wee hours. Before he could understand anything, they attacked him and his wife Arti. They tied up Arti with a rope and stabbed him with a sharp-edged weapon.

"The assailants then fled from the spot, leaving him to die. A neighbour of the victim heard the noise and rushed to see what was going on. He saw that Arti was tied up and Sonu was lying in a pool of blood. He then informed the police about the incident," said additional commissioner of police (west), V Renganathan.
Renganathan said the police were informed about the incident at 4 am. Sonu and Arti were taken tou00a0 Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, where Sonu was declared dead on arrival. she raised an alarm.

Police have lodged an FIR for murder in this respect against unknown persons at Moti Nagar police station. They say the assailants may have been known to the deceased, as they had a friendly entry into the house. However, they have not been able to ascertain the motive behind the murder.

"I heard screams of Arti in the morning. I rushed to see what had happened. I was shocked when I saw Sonu lying dead on the bed while Arti was tied up with a rope," said Peeyush, a neighbour of the deceased.
Sonu is survived by his wife and a four-year-old daughter. He used to run an eatery ufffdSnacks Express ufffdin Moti Nagar.
