A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by four people in a moving car in east Delhi's Welcome area Monday night.

The incident came to light after the woman was found by a Police Control Room (PCR) van lying in an unconscious condition near a dustbin in east Delhi's New Jafrabad area Tuesday morning. The woman was taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where her condition is stated to be out of danger.

The woman told the police that she was in search of a job after she separated from her husband. A few days ago, she had asked one of the accused, Yashdev, to search a job for her.

"Yashdev called the woman to meet him in Jafrabad park Monday evening on pretext of offering her a job. When the woman arrived at the appointed place, three more people were already present in a car," the police officer said.

"The accused offered her a cold drink laced with some sedatives and raped her in the moving car. She had no idea where the accused had taken her because she became unconscious after having the cold drink," the officer said.

"A case regarding the incident has been registered and Yashdev has been arrested. A hunt is on to nab the other three accused," said a police officer.

The woman resides in east Delhi's Bhajanpura area in a rented accommodation.u00a0
