Uttar Pradesh: A woman and her six-year-old daughter was burnt alive allegedly by her husband and in-laws in Khananka village for not meeting their dowry demands.
Police registered an FIR on the basis of a complaint made by Mehndi Hasan who alleged that his daughter Sanno (24) and Rukhsar (6) were burnt alive by her husband and in-laws yesterday night in this connection, Circle Officer Gajendra Rathi said.

Police have recovered an iron rod from the scene, he said, adding that it was suspected that the woman was first hit with the object and then set on fire.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem. Five persons have been arrested in connection with the matter, Rathi added.
