Apparently distraught over her strained relations with her husband, a woman in this Uttar Pradesh district has killed her three minor children before committing suicide, police said Wednesday.
Chanda Devi, 35, poisoned four-year-old Vikas, two-year-old Sanjeev and one-year-old Ragini to death and later committed suicide by hanging at her parents' house in Baijra village Tuesday, police said.

"Preliminary investigations indicate the woman took the extreme step following a marital dispute," police inspector Ram Bharose told reporters in Allahabad, 200 km from Lucknow.
"After a tiff with her husband, Chanda Devi had recently left his place and moved to her parents' house along with her kids," he added.
"Chanda, along with her kids, was found dead by her brother late Tuesday after he returned home from a function," the officer said.
