Woman, paramour sentenced to life for killing her husband

Muzaffarnagar: A local court sentenced a woman and her paramour to life imprisonment for killing her husband in Indatiyana village of the district.


Additional district sessions judge Pradeep Kumar ordered the sentence last evening and also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on each of the convicts - Nina and her paramour Arvind - after holding them guilty under section 302 (murder) of the IPC. According to the prosecution, Nina had killed her husband Ravinder on August 12, 2010 for opposing her relationship with Arvind, who too was involved in the murder.


In another case, additional district sessions judge Shyam Kumar sentenced a woman, Babli, and her paramour Shital to seven years' imprisonment in connection with the death of her husband in Kallarpur village of the district.


The judge held them guilty under section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the IPC. He also imposed fine of Rs 5,000 on each of the convicts. According to the prosecution, Babli, along with Shital, poisoned her husband Arvind Kumar to death on August 14, 2010 for opposing her relationship with Shital.
