A group of irate women gheraoed the police jeep, in which, a youth accused of raping a three-year-old girl, had been brought to Thane hospital for medical checkup, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday, police said adding that they managed to rescue the accused and took him to police station.
The accused, identified as Mohan alias Chhotu Narayan Singh, a vada-pav vendor, had allegedly raped the minor girl after luring her with chocolates two days back.

He sexually assaulted her at an isolated place near CIDCO road bridge, police said.
The child, who was left alone at the site after the incident, was later rescued by the passersby and her parents were informed, who registered an offence against the accused.
A medical check up confirmed that the child had been raped, police said.
