With an objective to motivate and reward Indian hockey players, WSH and IHF have announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh to all the WSH players, who make it to the Indian team for next year's Olympic Qualifiers.
Furthermore, If the Indian team does qualify for the Olympics by winning the Qualifier tournament that includes France, Egypt, USA, Canada and Poland besides hosts India, an additional Rs 5 lakh will be given to every WSH player in the Indian team.
WSH-IHF also announced cash rewards if the Indian team finishes on the podium in London. A bronze medal will see an amount of Rs 50 lakhs divided equally among all WSH players in the team. A silver will merit Rs 1 crore, while gold will attract Rs 2 Crore divided equally among all WSH players in the team.
