WWE SmackDown: John Cena returns with a huge Royal Rumble challenge

WWE SmackDown Live saw the return of WWE superstar John Cena to the roster once again after he was on a break since October 2016. Cena issued a challenge to face the WWE world champion at Royal Rumble 2017

WWE SmackDown Live saw the return of WWE superstar John Cena to the roster once again after he was on a break since October 2016. Cena issued a challenge to face the WWE world champion at Royal Rumble 2017.

John Cena, a fifteen time WWE world champion, was last seen at the WWE pay-per-view event at No Mercy.

WWE SmackDown Live's main event was a triple threat match for the WWE World title between AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin. After a double team dive off to the table on Corbin, AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler fought each other.Corbin hit the End of Days on Styles while Ziggler hit the ZigZag on Corbin. AJ Styles later hit the Phenomenal Forearm on Corbin and pinned Ziggler to retain his WWE championship.

Becky Lynch faced SmackDown Live's women's champion Alexa Bliss for the title but lost after inteference from the real La Luchadora. During an interview with Renee Young backstage, The Miz was attackd by Dean Ambrose who dressed up as a security guard.

The SmackDown Live tag team champions The Wyatt Family faced American Alpha, Beauty and the Man Beast and The Usos in a four corners elimination match. After BATMB and The Usos being eliminated, Alpha faced the Wyatts. Randy Orton mistakenly hit Luke Harper which led them to lose the title to American Alpha. Later on, Bray Wyatt had to calm things down between Randy Orton and Luke Harper.
