Los Angeles: First footage of the much-awaited film 'X-Men: Apocalypse' has been released, showing a glimpse of Oscar Issac as villain and ending with James McAvoy as the bald-headed Professor X.

The first look of the film was unveiled at Comic-Con, which saw the presence of its large cast including McAvoy, Issac, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult to Kodi Smit-McPhee and Sophie Turner, said The Hollywood Reporter.

It, however, started off on a sentimental note with Hugh Jackman. A reel showcased the history of the X-Men franchise with a heavy dose of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and also featured rare Jackman audition footage and being offered the job. "Up until two days ago I had no idea that footage existed," Jackman said before going on what felt very much like a Wolverine farewell tour. He talked of how his new Wolverine movie will be "my last time putting on the claws." "This has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me," he said. Director Bryan Singer then joined the man whose career he helped shape and explained, "I never gave anyone a job on the spot before. But I got permission." "X-Men: Apocalypse", directed by Singer, will hit theatres on May 27, 2016.

As the 'Apocalypse' cast came on, Hugh Jackman and Bryan Singer hugged and the actor bid the stage adieu. The panel ended on a high note and a surprise on top of a surprise, much to the delight of the crowd. After another showing of the footage, the entire cast returned to the stage with Hugh Jackman for a giant photo. Then, from one far side, X-Men co-creator Stan Lee shuffled onto the stage.

Moments later, and out of the blue, Tatum, who is joining the X-Men cinematic universe with his solo film Gambit, slated to release in October 2016, hopped from backstage and joined in on the fun.
