62-year-old jumps to death from 16th floor

62-year-old jumps to death from 16th floor

A 62-year-old woman jumped off her building terrace in Lok Everest society on ACC road in Mulund yesterday. According to police officials, the victim has been identified as Maniben Gailji. The incident took place in the morning and the police were informed at 7.15 am.


Police sub inspector Dilip Mane from Mulund police station said, “The victim was being treated by a psychiatrist for over one and a half years. We will be taking the psychiatrist’s statement to know why this happened.” The victim’s family consists of her husband, son and a daughter-in-law. The entire family was present in the house when the incident occurred.


According to the police, Gailji woke up in the morning, went to the terrace of the 16-storey building and jumped off. After the incident, the family doctor was called who declared her dead. Gailji’s body was sent to Rajawadi hospital for post-mortem. However, the Mulund police have recorded the incident as an accidental death in their station diary.
