Yoga Day Special: These Indian politicians must bend it

On International Yoga Day today, here’s a look at a few politicians who, we think, will be benefited through exercise and meditation. The recommendations are made in good humour.

Rahul Gandhi: Despite being in active politics for what seems like ages, Rahul has failed to inspire his party either by words or action. Perhaps, some yoga tips might help infuse him with fresh ideas.

Arvind Kejriwal: The Delhi CM seems to attract controversy, almost by default. Not surprising then that he has turned into the angry man of Indian politics. Kejriwal needs to take a few deep breaths.

Subramanian Swamy: Whether it is the opposition or the governor of RBI, the BJP MP has been on an attacking spree of late. He needs to take a chill pill.

Smriti Irani and Priyanka Chaturvedi: The two leaders from BJP and Congress respectively were engaged in an ugly Twitter spat a while back, rather unbecoming of reputed politicians. Yoga Day is a good occasion to make peace.

Eknath Khadse: With all the controversy surrounding the Dawood Ibrahim link, which led to his eventual resignation, there must be a lot of negative thoughts running through Khadse’s minds. Some yoga should help.

Special recommendation

Pahlaj Nihalani: He may not be a politico, but the entire row surrounding ‘Udta Punjab’ definitely snowballed into a major political controversy. The Censor chief needs to sit back, and have re-look at his role. What better way that some yoga?
