The term virtual winery is "just a tongue-in-cheek name! Wine can't be virtual, can it?" laughs Girish Mhatre, founder, Good Earth wines
The term virtual winery is "just a tongue-in-cheek name! Wine can't be virtual, can it?" laughs Girish Mhatre, founder, Good Earth wines. The latest premium brand to hit the wine market takes wineries (Nasik), storage tanks, even grapes, from other vineyards on lease. The reason is simple: it takes a lot less time leasing than setting up a winery. Since its launch in December last year, Good Earth has launched a reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, reserve Shiraz and a Sauvignon Blanc (Rs 725 onwards). Girish believes wine has a lot to do with mood, what you are eating, even the company you are in. Good Earth will soon get into a partnership with a food chain and recommend foods to go along with their wines. They will also release a CD of wine-themed music.
