Meanwhile, Pune-based entrepreneur and youth activist Tehseen Poonawalla has submitted another petition to the National Commission for Women (NCW), Delhi, against Vasant Dhoble for wrongly detaining four foreign nationals and branding them prostitutes during a raid at Voodoo Pub in south Mumbai's Colaba area on March 30.

The NCW has vowed to take action within three weeks of the petition being filed. The petition states, ‘On the night of March 30, Vasant Dhoble led a raid and detained women on the suspicion of being sex workers.

The footage of the entire episode has been provided for the perusal of the NCW’. The petition also states that the CCTV footage clearly shows that the four German women are pleading with police officials asking them to furnish a reason for their detention, but the same was not done. It also states that if the German nationals were sex workers, why were they later released without being charged and prosecuted?

“These foreign nationals were immediately branded as prostitutes. When they were brought out from the pub, cops were aware that there were media crews outside. Despite that, their faces were shown. Why weren’t their faces hidden?” said Poonawalla.

“Moreover, why did he (Dhoble) lie on camera that they are being taken to the police station to record their statements. Their rates were also announced by Dhoble,” added Poonawalla.

Last month, Poonawalla had filed a petition with the NHRC asking them to look into the physical and mental atrocities committed by Dhoble during his raids in Mumbai.
