A West Bengal youth was arrested for allegedly raping a woman and circulating her obscene pictures.
A youth was arrested on charges of raping a woman on the false promise of marrying her and circulating her obscene photos via mobile phone in West Midnapore district.

The youth, a resident of Kui village under Binpur police station, was arrested from Kalyani in Nadia district Wednesday, where he was undergoing training as member of the National Volunteer Force, police said Thursday.
The youth and the woman belonged to the same village and had been students of Jhargram Raj College. The woman lodged an FIR at the Binpur police station Thursday that the youth had raped her on the false promise of marrying her.
He also clicked obscene pictures of her by his cellphone and circulated them, she said.
The youth has been remanded to five days police custody today. His counsel said the two had an affair for two years and denied that he had taken any obscene pictures of her.
The youth was charged under IPC sections 376 (rape), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation), and various sections of the Information Technology Act.u00a0
