Chhad jaane de: Angel Richa’s prism of life

It is rightly said that most amazing things are unplanned and the super hit song Chhad Jaane De is the outcome of one such unplanned yet marvellous journey.

As we all know that Covid-19 has been a highly challenging time for every individual, this period has also affected the artists in terms of writer's blockage, engagement and even producing new things. The same things affected Angel Richa during the lockdown period but with her never giving up attitude she involved herself in many activities like writing poems, narrating them, and sharing them on her social media handle. After receiving an immense response on her social media she realized her true potential. She was already running her institute for 10 years but then she wanted to expand her horizon and present before people her talent which had been dormant for a long time. In her words, "I understood my potential when I encountered the virtual world. I never paid much attention to myself but during the time of pandemic I got to know my inner self better and the credit for this goes to none other than my team who has been with me always."

Angel Richa then felt the urge to produce something that would appeal to the people and give them a new perspective on life and society. Therefore, as soon as the third and fourth lockdown was lifted, she set her foot forward to work on her dream project. She started by taking permission for shooting in public places and finalized a beautiful and serene location for the same. Then, after the music video was complete it took months for Angel Richa's team to find a renowned music company to launch the song. Even when everyone left hope, Angel Richa held tight to the last edge of it and that edge turned out to be her ladder toward success. She met a brother-like figure on social media and with his help, she reached the White Hill Music Company which agreed to launch their song, Chhad Jaane De on New Year's Eve, 2022. After the release, the song crossed 1 million views and over 2 thousand comments in just 8 days.

Angel Richa expressed how she kept in view the social message she wanted to pass on vis-a-vis the entertainment element as she drew the course of the song. Though focusing on the social elements their aim was to club entertainment with it and not portray it like an educational video. They worked to wrap the social message in the tunes of modern-day music to produce a new variation in the music industry. The core idea underlying the song was to give a push and encouragement to those who have fallen into the trap of social stigmas related to body type, skin colour, talent, or even education. Angel Richa has used her life experiences to collaborate the song in a manner that touches the heart

of every single person who has ever faced any type of condemnation. The message she wanted to pass on to the younger generation is to focus on themselves and be self-oriented even if it means being called harsh, rude, or self-absorbed because it is an individual who can support their cause and no one else. The line in the song "Jalne do Jalne do, Zamane ko Jalne do," truly reflects this attitude and mind-set for the upcoming generations.

Therefore, Angel Richa has tried to portray the real world in her song and show how it is only the person himself who is responsible for his growth. One should always realize his/her talents and work towards their goal wholeheartedly without listening to what society has to say. For it is "We" who will remain as constant support and those who feel inferior to us will condemn even the slightest wrongdoing in the worst possible way.
