How many times have Hollywood and Bollywood replayed the trope of the fat girl getting a makeover to win everyone's attention and respect. How many times have we seen the fat guy being the punchline?

These are just reflections of a bigger problem in society. Our perpetual offense and attack on anyone more than a size M. Many of us snigger and avoid people if we feel they're overweight, we always accept the stereotypes associated with overweight people and feel it is fair to poke fun at them for their numbers on the scale.

Misha Arora, an experienced nutritionist, works with people who are looking to lose weight or inculcate healthier habits in their life.

She says, "Everyone has a unique weight loss journey, and everyone is trying their best to reach their goals. And of course every journey has its ups and downs but I have found that bodyshamers are the biggest obstacles in anyone's weight loss journey. Being rude to people is very easy, especially to those who we don't know much about. When anyone gets shamed or belittled for their weight they feel discouraged and want to give up. I always tell my clients to only focus on themselves and to mute out all unconstructive criticism.".

Misha works with people from all over the world and guides them with her training plans.

She herself has had to deal with bodyshamers as a teenager. Misha used to suffer from PCOS and Thyroid which affected her weight, and while her classmates didn't know this, they took every chance they could to taunt Misha. Misha turned this pain into motivation and shed weight in a healthy manner with her own plans.

Misha feels it is very important to have a strong support system when trying to lose weight, "Many deterrents will come up, many will try to take us down, but if we know someone has our back it will be easier to walk the mile. You can only exercise so much, and I can look over your nutrition and intake but for your mental well-being ask someone you trust to be there for you in the stands. I had my father with me. He pushed me alot and I can proudly say, I am here today, only because of him.".
