And when it comes to beauty makeovers, Sandeep Molugu alias Sandy Artist seems to have a Midas touch. Based in Hyderabad, Sandy made a career in the beauty industry after several other jobs.
However, his creative potential for beauty and makeup saw Sandy embarking on a journey in this field. At 26, his career as a makeup artist started, and since then, he has never looked back. Much before makeup and styling happened, Sandy Artist worked as a voice and accent trainer. Later, he got into choreography and performing arts. An alumnus of Shiamak Davar Institute of Performing Arts little did Sandy thought that he has something special in the store. Being in the world of creative arts, Sandeep’s curiosity to learn different forms of art saw him discover his passion for beauty and makeup.
Having an experience of a decade, Sandy Artist has created a name for himself as a go-to makeup artist. Besides mastering the art through self-learning and practice, Sandy took hairstyling training by the highly-experienced names like Mustafa Avici from New York and Charbel Rizk from Abu Dhabi. Additionally, he has also assisted the makeup expert Elton J. Fernandez as an assistant MUA for the art film ‘I Am’. The experience indeed helped him in taking up various freelance projects for reputed magazines and publications like Vogue, Grazia, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and HT Brunch to name a few.
In 2011, his first fashion show as a makeup artist was for Karan Johar and Varun Bahl’s collection for Taj Khazana. After that, he has had got an opportunity to work with celebrated names from the world of showbiz and the fashion industry including Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani, Shantanu Nikhil, Little Shilpa, JJ Valaya and Shravan Kumar. His clientele in the film industry includes Jacqueline Fernandez, Taapsee Pannu, Vijay Deverakonda, Allu Arjun, Manushi Chhillar, Priya Anand, Regina Cassandra, Catherine Tresa, Rakul Preet, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Neha Dhupia, Kajal Agarwal and many more.
With an ordinary beginning, Sandy Artist has made an extraordinary journey so far. Right from giving stunning red carpet makeovers to working with models, actors, photographers and other creative professionals, Sandy Artist has built a reputation as the most trusted name in the beauty and makeup industry. For completing a decade in the industry, he is all set to host an event alongside Lakshmi Manchu. “It feels that the last ten years passed in a jiffy. I feel blessed that my clients have shown immense faith in my work, and have made me the successful person”, said Sandy.
