In the Post COVID world, how are you fulfilling the need for contactless biometrics in the industry?
Response: With the COVID-19 pandemic there has been an increased demand for contactless access control solutions. The majority of businesses and organizations have been using fingerprint-based biometric devices for access control and attendance management. These Biometric devices have been rendered useless after the pandemic. We, at Spintly, in order to cater to the rising demand for contactless access control & attendance systems, have come up with a smartphone-based solution that allows you to authenticate yourself through your very own mobile phone using biometric authentication. Only once authenticated the user can gain access or check-in/check-out of the office.
We provide a single platform that offers contactless solutions for access control, attendance management and visitor management. And to add to this our solutions are fully wireless eliminating a huge amount of cabling work that is usually required for such solutions.
What identity verification techniques does Spintly use in its technology?
Response- Smartphones have become the lifeline of human beings over the last 1 decade. We carry our smartphones everywhere along with us. We carry out all sorts of transactions using smartphones ranging from buying stuff online, to ordering food to make complex financial transactions. The smartphone has become the unique identifier of an individual. We allow users to use their smartphones as their authentication devices. For added security, we have added Two-factor Authentication where the user has to authenticate himself/herself using a biometric method like fingerprint or face recognition before granting access.
This provides a very personal and secure way to authenticate users.
We understand that your company in addition to having hardware products also offers software products, but what are your software services, and how does it help your customers?
Response- The beauty of our solutions is that our hardware works seamlessly with our software to provide the best user experience to our customers. Our cloud-based software offers the ultimate flexibility to our customers where they can manage access to their property remotely sitting anywhere in the world and monitor the access logs in real-time.
We offer a suite of software products for our customers. Our main product offering is the Access Control software which enables an organization to enable smartphone-based access to users in addition to managing their access cards and biometric credentials. We provide real-time logs and analytics on access control of the property. We have an attendance management module that allows the organization to effectively manage the attendance of their employees. We also offer a visitor management module that allows proper management of visitor logs and also allowing visitors to access doors seamlessly.
Do you think mobile-based door access is the future in the new normal?
Response- It is very evident that with the surge in smartphone adoption and continuous advancement in technology, smartphones have become a part of our life. We are dependent on smartphones and this has led to interesting applications of smartphones. Mobile-based access control is one such interesting use case of this new-age innovation. We personally feel that with the growing trend, smartphone-based door access will be the new norm in the upcoming future. There are plenty of reasons why we believe this.
Firstly, everyone loves to save money and with our system, there is neither a need to install a server nor a need to spend hefty amounts on wires and cables. Secondly, mobile-based door access gives us flexibility as it allows us to open or close doors without being physically present at the door. We may forget our keys or access cards but not our smartphones. Hence, this new technology is here to stay and will only grow in the future.
What are your plans moving forward as you have established your company in the market?
Response- We have been successful in making a name for Spintly in the domain of physical security solutions and we further plan to expand our business from South India to a pan India level. We also have been efficient in expanding beyond India and currently, we have a solid network and presence in Africa and parts of the Middle East. Our aim at Spintly is to become one of the leading service providers of wireless access control and security solutions.
