The Navi Mumbai Police in Maharashtra have arrested the husband and two women in connection with the murder of his wife and are looking for two contract killers, officials said on Wednesday, reported the PTI.

The The 27-year-old Navi Mumbai based housewife, identified as Alvina Kishore Khangar Singh, was found dead with her throat slit at her home in Ulwe area on the night of May 18, prompting the Navi Mumbai police to launch a probe, according to the PTI.


A police official said Alvina's husband Kishore Singh allegedly plotted the crime as the couple had some matrimonial dispute.


Kishore allegedly connived with one Alisha Dhanprakash Tyagi of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh and Charanjit Fatesingh Kaur, alias Dimple, from Amritsar in Punjab and roped in two contract killers from other states to murder his wife, Navi Mumbai police said in a release, as per the PTI.

The husband paid Rs 6 lakh to the hired hitmen, it said. However, police have not elaborated on the role of Tyagi and Dimple in the crime.

Kishore and the two women were produced in a local court, which remanded them in police custody till May 27.

"A team of the Ulwe police and the crime branch is on the lookout for the two contract killers," the release said.

Man held in Mumbai for murdering wife in Ahmedabad

Meanwhile, in an another incident, a 28-year-old man was arrested in Mumbai for allegedly killing his wife in Ahmedabad, an official said on Wednesday, reported the PTI.

Accused Anil, alias Bobby Jangam, and his wife Reena Verma are from Ghatkopar, an eastern suburb of Mumbai, and had gone to the Gujarat city for some work.
Jangam allegedly killed Reena on Tuesday morning following a dispute and fled to Mumbai, the official said.

After learning about the murder, the Ahmedabad police tracked his mobile phone and informed their Mumbai counterparts that he was hiding in Ramabai Nagar, Ghatkopar, in the metropolis.

A team from the Pantnagar police station then took Jangam into custody and handed him over to the Gujarat police, the official said, the news agency reported.
