Tragic: Mahesh Shukla’s body was found near Virar checkpost

According to the Dahisar police, on Monday, Shivani Singh, who owns Jeet Narayan Singh Chawl in Ambawadi approached them alleging that her brothers-in-law Ajay and Jayesh Singh had physically assaulted her. The police registered a case of assault and arrested the duo. However, the two accused received bail on Monday afternoon.

Within hours, a woman by the name of Sunderben Shukla and her son Bhavesh approached the authorities claiming that her elder son Mahesh (40) was missing since Sunday night. She also informed them that the locals of Jeet Narayan Singh Chawl — the same chawl where Shivani stayed — had seen Ajay and Jayesh beating Mahesh.

Based on their suspicions, officials from Dahisar police station called Shivani in for questioning. It was then that Shivani revealed that Mahesh was at her home on Sunday night when her brother-in-laws saw the two of them and started beating Mahesh with baseball bats and sticks.

She added that their employees Vishal Solanki and Jignesh Rajkumar helped Ajay and Jayesh.

By then the authorities had received information that a body had been recovered from the Virar checkpost and witnesses had seen a few men throwing the body out of a car. They asked Bhavesh to accompany them, who positively identified his brother’s body.

Officials then realised that the four — Ajay, Jayesh, Vishal and Jignesh — had kidnapped Mahesh clobbered him in the car and dumped his body in Virar.

“After learning this we booked the four for murder and nabbed Jayesh and Vishal. However, Ajay and Jignesh managed to flee. When we had arrested Ajay and Jayesh on Monday, we did not know that they had already killed Mahesh,” said Ansar Peerzade, senior inspector of Dahisar police station.

The police are now trying to locate Ajay and Jignesh.

Meanwhile, Shivani told the police that Mahesh’s wife had passed away and even her husband had died due to kidney failure six months ago.

Since then Mahesh had been taking care of her. Since then Mahesh had been taking care of her while Ajay and Jayesh had been harassing her to vacate the chawl so that they could become sole owners.u00a0
