Nationalist Congress Party leader and ex-minister Chhagan Bhujbal has been booked for allegedly threatening to kill a Chembur resident, after the latter forwarded a few videos to him. The Mumbai Crime Branch is investigating the matter.

According to a complaint filed by 49-year-old Lalitkumar Tekchandani, a Chembur resident and social activist, he came across videos of Bhujbal in which he was talking about Hindu goddess Saraswati. At around 3.30 pm on September 30, he forwarded the videos on the mobile numbers of Bhujbal. At 4.17 pm, Tekchandani received a call from an unknown number in which the person asked him, “why he sent the videos to Bhujbal sahab”.

The person also threatened to gun him down. Tekchandani disconnected the call, but after three minutes he again received a call from an unknown number. The caller again allegedly threatened him saying, “People from Dubai will get you.” At 4.35 pm, he also received WhatsApp messages from unknown numbers asking for his location. He rushed to the Crime Branch Unit 6 office and submitted the evidences. Crime branch officials registered a complaint at the Chembur police station against Bhujbal and two others.
