Ahead of the monsoon season, Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has released a list of 96 cessed buildings in Mumbai that have been declared as extremely dangerous after the annual pre-monsoon survey, an official statement said on Wednesday.

Two of the buildings in the list issued on May 21 were also listed last year.

The buildings are old, dilapidated, and considered unsafe for living. A total of 3,162 people live or work in these buildings – 2,577 residential and 585 non-residential occupants, it said.

The statement said that as part of the action against the dangerous buildings in the list, eviction notices have been sent to 184 residential tenants.

It said that so far, only 3 families have shifted to transit camps and 176 homes remain occupied despite eviction orders.

"No tenant has made independent arrangements for other housing. The Board is preparing to move affected people into transit camps," the statement said.

The statement further said that the board has appealed to all tenants and residents of the listed buildings to vacate the premises and follow safety guidelines strictly.

It has appealed to the residents in these buildings to inform the Control Room if any sign of structural damage is noticed.

The board has also issued emergency contact numbers and addresses as below:
