Reminding citizens of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis mentioned that the centre where Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab had received training was destroyed in Operation Sindoor.

On Wednesday, the chief minister, along with other Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, participated in the Tiranga Yatra — a procession to salute the Indian defence forces on the success of Operation Sindoor, missile strikes launched against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam massacre.

“Of the several areas that were struck by Indian forces, one of the camps destroyed was where terrorist Kasab [Ajmal Kasab] had received training,” Fadnavis said, highlighting the Indian defence forces’ commitment to fight terrorism and protect Indian borders.

Kasab was the lone surviving terrorist of the 26/11 attacks. Commencing from May 13, the 11-day-long Tiranga Yatra is being organised across the country as part of a programme to celebrate the recent military operations conducted by the Indian Army and hail the leadership and commitment to fight terrorism of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Besides Fadnavis, several retired armed forces members, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and senior BJP leaders such as Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Ashish Shelar and Pankaja Munde were present for the yatra.
