The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday said that the water supply in parts of Mumbai will be affected on May 28 due to maintenance work.
The Mumbai civic body said that there would be a 15 per cent water cut in the city and eastern suburbs on 28th May 2025, due to maintenance work at the Panjrapur pumping station.
An official statement said that the work will be carried out at Stage 1 of the Panjrapur pumping station to install a new anti-surge vessel (pressure control tank). It is scheduled to take place from 9:45 am to 10:45 pm, lasting a total of 13 hours.
It said that due to the work, water supply in parts of Mumbai city, eastern suburbs, and areas in Thane and Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporations will be reduced by 15 per cent during the period.

F South Ward – Entire ward
F North Ward – Entire ward
Eastern Suburbs:
T Ward – Mulund (East and West)
S Ward – Bhandup, Nahur, Kanjurmarg, and Vikhroli (East)
N Ward – Vikhroli, Ghatkopar (East and West)
L Ward – Kurla (East)
M East Ward – Entire ward
M West Ward – Entire ward
Meanwhile, the city civic body has also confirmed that parts of Thane and Bhiwandi-Nizampur that receive water from Mumbai will experience the same 15 per cent cut.
The citizens in the affected areas are requested to store water in advance and cooperate with the authorities during the maintenance period.
The BMC has appealed to all residents to use water carefully and avoid wastage.
Palghar's Deharji project reaches 80 per cent completion
Meanwhile, Metropolitan Commissioner, Dr Sanjay Mukherjee had earlier this month said that the Deharji Medium Project, a key water infrastructure initiative in Palghar district of Maharashtra, has achieved a significant progress.
Located on the Deharji River, a tributary of the west-flowing Vaitarna River, near Suksale village in Palghar's Vikramgad, the project involves the construction of an earthen and masonry dam with a total storage capacity of 95.60 million cubic metres and usable storage of 93.22 million cubic metres, equivalent to 255 million litres per day (MLD).
The project is being carried out by the Konkan Irrigation Development Corporation (KIDC) with a financial assistance of 25,99.15 crore from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
