With Diwali around the corner, discounts and shopping festivals have sprung up across the city, but none more colourful and crowded than the Lokhandwala Shopping Festival

Known as an open high street mall much like Orchard Street in Singapore, with over 400 stores selling everything from a pin to a piano, the Lokhandwala Shopping Festival (LSF), which kick-starts today is set to dazzle.



“It is one market where you will find the latest fashion even before it enters those branded outlets in the malls. Frequent shoppers here are celebrities from both Bollywood and the television world. Apart from international brands, we also have boutiques selling high-end designer products,” said Nizam Ali Khan, president of the Shri Swami Samarth Lokhandwala Vyapari Mandal, which is hosting the festival.


Secretary of the association Deepak Gupta pointed out that the LSF has been a landmark event for the past 15 years wherein the streets are illuminated for the 10 days of the festival and shops offer
