The CM Chasak initiative will witness sports and cultural competitions across 288 Assembly Constituencies 36 Districts in the state. The event's culmination occurs on January 12, 2019, which is the National Youth Day, at the state level.
The initiative covers almost all the sporting competitions such as cricket, volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, carrom, 100-meter race, 400-metre race, and Kushti. The cultural competitions being organized are dance, singing, painting, and rangoli.
There will be 8-10 event venues in each district. Please select the Vidhan Sabha of your current residence for registration in the event. Details of event venue will be communicated at a later date via call and SMS. The participation in CM Chashak is completely free.
There are 10 individual and 8 team based sports and cultural competitions. Each event will be a 3 tiered tournament with first level competitions being held at Vidhan Sabha level. Qualifying teams will move on to next level of the tournament at the district level, culminating in a state level mega event.
It's worth pointing out that both women and men can participate in CM Chashak event and all sports competitions will be intra-gender. In cultural competitions, teams can comprise either gender or a mix of both genders. The cultural competitions will not have competitions segregated by gender.
CM Chasak event allows an individual to participate in multiple events. It also allows individuals to participate in both cultural and sports events. For group events, however, if the same team wants to participate in more than one event, separate registrations will have to take place. Multiple times registrations for the same event are not allowed.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday kicked off the CM Chashak event, an initiative to boost the sports and cultural ecosystem in Maharashtra.
