COVID-19: Amitabh Bachchan tests positive, bungalow sealed and sanitised by BMC

  • As Maharashtra grapples with the highest number of Coronavirus cases, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who tested positive, was declared 'stable' with 'mild symptoms'. Besides Amitabh, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Aaradhya Bachchan have also tested positive.

  • Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that the Dharavi slum in Mumbai has emerged as a global role model for controlling the spread of novel coronavirus. Thackeray's comment came after the World Health Organisation (WHO) praised the efforts taken to contain the spread of the COVID-19 in Asia's largest slum.

  • Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh expressed gratitude to Bollywood director Rohit Shetty for facilitating 11 hotels across the city to help on-duty police personnel, who have been leading the city's fight against the global pandemic.
