Mahesh Bhupathi married Shvetha Jaishankar in 2002 but the couple got divorced in 2009 after seven years of marriage. The tennis star then married Miss Universe 2000 Lara Dutta in a civil ceremony on 16 February 2011 at Bandra, Mumbai. It was followed by a Christian ceremony on 20 February 2011 at Sunset Point in Goa.
Mahesh Bhupathi was known for his epic doubles partnership with Leander Paes. The duo later fell apart due to ego clashes and difference of opinions.
