One of the Indian television world's most popular actresses, Juhi Parmar is still known to many as Kumkum as the TV show made her a household name. Born on December 14, 1980, in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Before gaining recognition in Kumkum: Ek Pyaara Sa Bandhan, Juhi Parmar has appeared in the TV shows Choodiyan, Shaheen, Yeh Jeevan Hai among others. (All photos: Instagram account)
Juhi Parmar, who became the second female to win Bigg Boss 5, after actress Shweta Tiwari emerged victorious in Season 4. She also featured in reality shows like Nach Baliye 3, Saas Vs Bahu, Pati Patni Aur Woh and Maa Exchange.
Juhi Parmar has also emerged as the winner in 'Comedy Circus 2' and participated in 'Nach Baliye' with husband Sachin Shroff.
Juhi Parmar even appeared in the Pakistani TV series Tere Ishq. She even showed her comedy skills in Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai. Although the show only lasted a year it was quite interesting to watch Juhi perform comedy.
Juhi Parmar tied the knot with Gujarati businessman and actor Sachin Shroff in 2009. In 2013, the couple was blessed with a baby girl, who is named Samaira Shroff, after which she stayed away from the limelight for a few years.
Juhi Parmar has stated in the past that she thoroughly enjoyed her maternity period and considers it one of the happiest times of her life.
Unfortunately, Juhi Parmar and Sachin Shroff ended their nine years of marriage. The couple was granted a divorce on June 25 2018. Sachin opened up in an interview saying, "The divorce happened with mutual consent, amicably and in a dignified manner. Unfortunately, and by Juhi's own public admission, she was never in love with me. One-sided relationships are doomed from the beginning. It's said, 'It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all'. But the fact is that it hurts to have been in a loveless marriage. Nothing I did could make Juhi love me."
It was Juhi and Sachin's mutual friend Pooja Bedi, who helped them get through their divorce with a stronger future for their daughter. "Pooja worked out a financially secure future for our daughter, all the way to her graduation in a foreign university. I gave Samairra double the amount Juhi had agreed on. I have given my daughter 50 per cent share of my two-bedroom apartment as well as a commercial property in Pune. In addition, the rent of the commercial premises will ensure that her other expenses are met. This is all part of the agreement, but I intend to do far more than that in my personal capacity. Everything I have will be for her. Fathers love their children just as much as mothers do," said Shroff.
But it didn't go well with Juhi Parmar. The actress broke her silence about her split with Sachin Shroff. She hit out at her former husband through an open letter for calling their marriage "loveless" and for the impact it can have on their five-year-old daughter.
"A mother first, an ex-wife now, an actress from the last two decades, a daughter, a sister, I am Juhi Parmar and this is my truth," Juhi posted on Instagram. Addressing it "To Whomsoever it may concern", Juhi put at rest speculation, comments and questions about why she has been quiet.
Read Juhi's note: On January 27, 2013, a mother was born and my first priority has been my daughter ever since. A lot has been said, but why is my question. We had decided we would never blame each other as that's not in the best interest of our daughter. I had kept my word and always shared the blame of a failed marriage by terming it to be 'incompatibility'.
"I could have never imagined that you will form a base by misconstruing and misinterpreting my so-called statements. You have put the entire blame on me of the marriage crumbling down by calling it a loveless marriage. You claim that I have never loved you no matter what and also that only you loved me that too deeply and thus, you have called it a one-sided marriage and relationship," said Juhi.
She questioned Sachin when and where she said she was never in love with him. "By calling our marriage a one-sided relationship you have not only crushed and negated all my efforts that I put into our marriage but also insulted me publicly and assassinated my character. If I didn't love the man I was married to, I wouldn't have stayed with him for nine years of my life and given birth to a child which is ‘ours'. Two decades of hard work to build an image, a niche for myself but today my parents, my family and I have to face emotional torture, abuse and nuisance due to the comments you have made," she added.
"If I want, I too could have given away various facts to prove what went wrong in our marriage but all that shall remain hidden beneath in my heart. I still choose to keep everything between us because I choose to keep the integrity of our marriage as well as the integrity of the man who was my husband for nine years and who shall always remain the father of my child. Half the truth is actually as good as a lie! A one-sided fabricated story is actually pretty close to fiction. I know my realities and I know the future, which I must now face with my daughter," said the single mother.
Here's a shoutout to Juhi Parmar and all single moms, who really need to be lauded for doing a fine job.
