Kareena Kapoor Khan has said that Veere Di Wedding is a progressive film. While interacting with reporters to promote 'Veere Di Wedding' on Thursday in Mumbai, Kareena said, "People have appreciated the trailer because this film's language is very different. It's really a progressive film. We have watched films like these from male perspective in 'Dil Chahta Hai' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', but through this film, people will, for the first time, see a story through four female friend's perspective," Kareena said she enjoyed the script at the very first time she read it
Talking about the storyline of the film, Kareena Kapoor Khan said, "When we see four girls on screen, audience thinks that it is a chic flick and it will be about their clothes, shoes and bags but this film is not like that. "I think that's why producer decided not to position this film as a chic flick because it's a story of four girls who are in different stages of marriage. We are showing certain issues in the film which we have not addressed earlier." When asked whether she could relate with her character in the movie, Kareena said: "My character, Kalindi, is commitment phobic but I am married and have a kid in real life, so I don't think I can relate with her character in that way."
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja arrives at the Mumbai airport. Sonam looked summer ready in a blue and white floral ensemble. Sonam Kapoor said that she tries to break stereotypes with each of her films. Interacting with media during a promotion for Veere Di Wedding on Thursday, Sonam said: "Every film that I do, I hope to break stereotypes in some way and inspire young people, be it women or men, to look forward and feel like they can break the glass ceiling in some way. I have always aspired to make films that kind of change the mindsets of people and at the same time, entertain them."
Sonam Kapoor added: "Now, before the release of the film, I don't think so much about it because I get stressed thinking about how it will do once it's released. But I think we have made this film with lot of efforts and its very entertaining film. I feel that this film will do well." Sonam Kapoor said that in the movie, there are some cheeky dialogues spoken by female characters of the film which "are not going well with certain section of people. When we sit with our close friends, we make use of such kind of language. We shouldn't create issue out of that because I feel it's a colloquial way of talking," she said.
Kareena and Sonam's Veere Di Wedding co-star was also spotted at the Mumbai airport. Swara Bhasker, who had agreed that it was a spontaneous decision to wear a bikini in Veere Di Wedding. But she is not the sort of actress who would go and throw tantrums on sets. So when Rhea Kapoor informed her before the film's shoot that she had to don a bikini in the film, Swara got a little worried and over-conscious about the same. She also stated that before this she had never played a role like this where she was required to wear a bikini. The Nil Battey Sannata actress also felt that she didn't possess the body type to pull off a bikini look.
And so, she did a lot of dieting, exercise, yoga and several other things to lose weight and sport a bikini in the film. Swara Bhasker also revealed taking ayurvedic pills and having green tea. But the actress is still nervous about how will people find her look. However, the actress quips that she has no qualms about doing such a scene.
