A national Level Judo medalist in the past, Ketaki loves playing Rugby and represent the Rugby 7s Team India since its inception in 2009 until 2012
She trains at ‘Excellence Through Movement (ETM) CrossFit’, and says that Crossfit has altered her life in more ways than one
In an interview Ketaki said, "I was raised in a military background; my grandfather, father and uncle were all in the army. I am positive that if I didn’t have my rugby dream, I would have served in the Indian army."
In the interview she added that it was her mother who wncouraged her to pursue sports, unlike most Indians. She added, "It was not until I had tried gymnastics, karate, bharatanatyam, athletics, competitive swimming, that I finally set my heart on judo."
But things were about to change for the talented sports woman. She says that after she won a medal at the national games, she had a fall out with her coach which majorly imapcted her life
She decided to give up Judo and with that all other sports. Ketaki says, it took a drastic change in ther life to bring her back to the world of fitness
In an interview Ketaki Khare said, "I was on the brink of losing myself on a path of darkness when the timely intervention of my rugby coaches jolted me back. They insisted that I start training for the first ever women’s rugby game that was about to be held."
Just as she was on the path of recovery and stepping back into the world of sports, Ketaki said that another shocker was when her father passed away in 2012.
Ketaki Khare had to grapple with a sudden standstill in the family's income and had to choose between getting a job or following her dreams of Rugby in Sri Lanka.
Ketaki Khare's mother was the one who supported her and even through the toughest time sent her off to pursue her dreams of playing rugby
Currently Ketaki Khare plays Rugby, works part time, coaches Crossfit Classes and Rugby classes. Her days are long and she says she never has any rest days
When asked about who inspires her to stay so fit and keep pushing though all the harship, she says her mother, Grandfather, rugby, football coaches, and CrossFit coaches are the ones who help her suceed
When asked about her future plans with regards to Crossfit, Ketaki says she want to be one of the first Indian CrossFitters to qualify for the CrossFit regionals, while her ultimate goal is to compete at the CrossFit Games
Ketaki Khare says she wants to continue developing as a coach and wants to make a difference in people's lives through Crossfit. Here are a few candid moments from Ketaki Khare's Instagram account
