    The results of the Maharashtra Assembly elections indicated a dip in the tally of the BJP. The party suffered a setback in Parli as its candidate Pankaja Munde conceded defeat. Pankaja, the daughter of late BJP leader Gopinath Munde lost the elections to her cousin Dhananjay Munde, who had a landslide victory in Parli by securing 1.22 lakh votes compared to Pankaja's 91,413 votes.
