    She became an overnight sensation after playing the lead role in Yash Chopra’s ‘Noorie’ (1979), and went on to establish herself as a prominent actress of the 80s. Dhillon acted in the 2002 TV show ‘Kittie Party’ and was recently seen playing the central character in ‘Ekk Nayi Pehchaan’
  • Farida Jalal
    She is most famous for playing Rajesh Khanna’s girlfriend in ‘Aradhana’, and also played the lead role in the 1973 film ‘Jeevan Rekha’. On TV, Jalal has done numerous shows, some of them being ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’, ‘Shararat’ and ‘Jeannie Aur Juju’. She is currently part of Satrangi Sasural
  • Vidya Sinha
    The veteran actress won accolades for her performance in offbeat films like ‘Rajnigandha’ and ‘Chhoti Si Baat’. She also featured in the commercially successful ‘Pati Patni aur Woh’. On the small screen, Sinha has acted in ‘Kkavyanjali’, ‘Zaara’ and, more recently in ‘Qubool Hai’
  • Shoma Anand
    Many may not be aware that Anand once played lead roles in Bollywood. In fact, she made her debut opposite Rishi Kapoor in ‘Barood’ (1976). She was also the female lead in the Mithun Chakraborty-starrer ‘Patita’. On television, Anand is most remembered as Bina Mathur from the hilarious ‘Hum Paanch’. Her other television shows include ‘Bhabhi’, ‘Shararat’ and ‘Maayka’
  • Kamini Kaushal
    A throwback to the black and white era of Hindi cinema, Kaushal is fondly remembered for her legendary film ‘Neecha Nagar’ (1946), which won Palme d'Or (Golden Palm) at Cannes Film Festival. She also had an award-winning role in ‘Biraj Bahu’. Kaushal’s TV appearances include those in ‘Chand Sitare’, ‘Shanno Ki Shaadi’ and ‘'Waqt Ki Raftaar’
  • Aruna Irani
    The versatile actress starred opposite Amitabh Bachchan during Big B’s pre-stardom days, in ‘Bombay to Goa’ (1972). Irani also had a prominent role in ‘Caravan’. On the small screen, she has mostly done elderly roles in ‘Mehndi Tere Naam Ki’, ‘Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand’ and ‘Rabba Ishq Na Hove’ among others
  • Supriya Pathak
    She played highly appreciated characters in critically acclaimed films like ‘Vijeta’ (1982) and ‘Bazaar’ (1982). Although she has acted in many TV serials, her name has been synonymous with the uproarious character of Hansa Parekh from the sitcom ‘Khichdi’. Her other television appearances have been in ‘Idhar Udhar’ and ‘Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka’. She is presently being seen in ‘Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai’
  • Sudha Chandran
    A noted Bharatanatyam dancer, whose inspirational story of picking herself up after losing a leg in an accident made it to school textbooks, played the lead role in the 1986 film ‘Nache Mayuri’. The movie was inspired by Chandran’s own life, and was a remake of the 1984 Telugu film ‘Mayuri’. Chandran has acted in various small screen shows over the last decade. Some of the popular ones are ‘Kaahin Kissii Roz’, ‘K. Street Pali Hill’ and ‘Tumhari Disha’. She is presently part of ‘Shastri Sisters’
  • Shilpa Shirodkar
    A moderately successful actress from the 90s, remembered for her sensuous portrayals in films like ‘Hum’ and ‘Pehchaan’, Shirodkar debuted on the small screen with the show ‘Ek Mutthi Aasmaan’, in which she played the role of a domestic worker
  • Padmini Kolhapure
    A top actress of the 80s with numerous hits like to her name ‘Prem Rog’, ‘Souten’ and ‘Woh Saat Din’, Kolhapure entered the small screen by playing the character of Pallavi Ajmera, a cancer-afflicted woman in ‘Ekk Nayi Pehchaan’, which had another veteran Bollywood actress, Poonam Dhillon, in the lead role
