'Bang Bang' starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif is reportedly based on the 2010 Hollywood action-comedy 'Knight and Day', which starred Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz

Hrithik has idolised Michael Jackson since the time he first moved to a dance beat, and he used to learn the moves through play and pause mode for hours. "I love his style and energy! So, when Bosco (choreographer) and Sid (director Siddharth Anand) said 'Michael Jackson', at first I thought there's no way I could match up, but then I reframed that and did it for my love for him in my own style, my own way," Hrithik said in a statement. The experience was "fun" for Hrithik, who said, "It's my ode to the inspiration he (Michael Jackson) has been." The video of the song also features Katrina Kaif.
"This is an out-an-out dance and party track. It's high on glamour, scale and Katrina and I have danced our hearts out," Hrithik added.
Regarding the similarities between 'Bang Bang' and the 2010 film 'Knight and Day' Katrina Kaif has said that the director Siddharth Anand has just borrowed the original's structure and hence cannot be considered as a complete remake.
Known to put his work before everying else, including his health, Hrithik Roshan shot for a song in 'Bang Bang' despite suffering ligament tear in both his knees.
Says a source, "Hrithik has a ligament tear in both his legs, which is why he has been advised to take rest. But the actor wants to shoot for the song and wrap up the film's shoot. In fact, he is adamant that they finish the shoot despite his injury." The source adds that Hrithik has been diagnosed with 40 percent ligament tear in both his knees."His doctor has suggested bed rest but he doesn’t want the film crew to suffer because of him," says the source.
'Bang Bang' releases on October 2.
