Kareena Kapoor Khan revealed at the trailer launch that when she read the script she wanted to do the film right away and she is happy to be part of the ensemble cast.
Permanent Roommates actor Sumeet Vyas will be playing Bebo's love interest in the film. "When I got a call for the audition, neither the co-stars nor the production house was named. I guessed that it would involve big names, because, in smaller projects, details are often revealed," he laughs. A long wait following the audition led him to believe his selection stood on flimsy grounds, but Vyas admits that the day he got the call was a special one. "From not having an idea about who the director was, to learning that it was such a huge film with big stars was a relief. I said, 'Okay, I have made it.'"
Talking of Kareena Kapoor Khan's drastic post-pregnancy weight loss, Swara Bhasker said that she is a 'gym goddess'. To which, Bebo said that she is thankful to husband Saif Ali Khan, who pushed her to the gym and set an example for women
Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania recently shot for a new song for their film Veere Di Wedding. The song featuring Badshah is choreographed by Farah Khan. While Sonam Kapoor looked a million buck in the satin pink and sheer black top, Kareena looked sexier than ever in a black dress
After an eventful year that saw her being honoured with a National Award, Sonam Kapoor is raring to go with a busy 2018. With four outings in the pipeline, including Akshay Kumar-starrer Padman, Rajkumar Hirani's Sanjay Dutt biopic, and an untitled venture with father Anil, the actor has a lot to look forward to. Understandably, she is the most excited about Veere Di Wedding. "I am hoping that the audience comes to watch it," she says, knowing that her film will be pitted against successful male-bonding dramas like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Dil Chahta Hai. "It's important to understand that even women can helm lead roles and deliver wholesome entertainers," says Kapoor, as she gears up to carry a film on her shoulders in a largely male-dominated industry"
Considering Sonam Kapoor-starrer Veere Di Wedding features four women in leading roles, many were quick to jump the gun and draw parallels between the film and popular series-turned-film, Sex And The City. Sonam, on her part, finds the comparison annoying. "Why are people always finding Western comparisons to Indian films? Veere Di Wedding is a desi movie with stories about women we know. People are still not India-proud. That's why I am consciously doing intrinsically Indian stories. We have a billion stories to tell. It's us actors who need to give that a chance"
Swara Bhasker looked beautiful in her short pink dress. Swara, who is sharing screen space with actresses like Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor, says that sometimes it is good to have no controversies. When asked that how does it feel to have no conflicts and controversies while working in a film that has multiple actresses in one frame, Swara told IANS: "I think this entire team is completely invested in the craft and the characters that they are playing. There is a great story, and we just want to make every attempt to ensure that people like it. Sometimes it is all right to not have any controversies! I am thrilled to be a part of this project"
Swara Bhaskar recently defended her Veere Di Wedding co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan against a troll who slammed the latter for marrying a Muslim and for naming her son Taimur. Swara tweeted a photograph of Kareena holding a placard asking for the justice for the eight-year-old girl, who was gang-raped in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district. On that, a social media user wrote: "She should be ashamed of the fact that despite being a Hindu is married to a Muslim. Has a child with him and named him Taimur, after a brutal Islamic barbarian." To this, Swara Bhaskar replied: "You should be ashamed you exist. That God gave you a brain which you chose to fill with hate and a mouth you chose to spew filth from. You are a shame on India and Hindus. That sh*ts like you feel emboldened to talk this crap publicly is this government's legacy"
Shikha Talsania poses for the photographers at the event. Veteran actor Tikku Talsania's daughter made her first appearance as Ranbir Kapoor's friend in Wake Up Sid . Next came Meera Nair's Midnight's Children and My Friend Pinto. In between, she kept herself busy with theatre and was seen on stage in Ladies Sangeet. Veere Di Wedding holds promise to earn her mileage
