Reham Khan was born to Nayyar Ramzan, a Pakistani physician. She is ethnically of Pashtun origins and her family hails from Baffa. Her parents moved to Libya in the late 1960s, where Reham was born in Ajdabiya on April 3, 1973. She has one sister and one brother. Reham Khan married Ijaz Rehman her first cousin and British psychiatrist in 1993 when she was 19. The marriage did not last long and the couple divorced in 2005. Reham Khan has three children who have lived with her since the divorce. Her husband Ijaz Rehman went on a record saying that his life would have been in severe danger if he had not given divorce to Reham Khan.

It had also been claimed that Imran Khan divorced Reham Khan through a text message followed by a brief email. She is said to have received the text message communicating divorce when she stepped off the plane at Birmingham airport. Nothing has been confirmed.
