Sandhya Mridul was born in Mumbai but her parents shifted to Delhi when she was an infant. Her family moved to Jaipur when Sandhya was 10 and she completed her studies at Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' Public School.
Sandhya Mridul's father, PR Mridul, who was a lawyer by profession passed away when Sandhya was only 14. She was then raised by her older brother Siddharth Mridul.
Siddharth Mridul's elder brother Siddharth is a sitting judge at the Delhi High Court. Sandhya has another elder brother named Pankaj.
Sandhya Mridul graduated in mathematics from Lady Sriram College, Delhi and went on to work in a corporate firm in Mumbai. She received an opportunity to work in the TV series Swabhimaan during this time.
