Simmba will see Ranveer Singh play a rowdy police inspector, whereas Sara Ali Khan's character will be the reason behind his transformation from an unscrupulous cop to one with morals
Simmba is a remake of the Telugu film, Temper. Sara Ali Khan's mom Amrita Singh has apparently requested Simmba makers to ensure daughter's role in the film is meatier and more meaningful.

The 31-year-old actress will feature in the first two singles to be crooned by Jubin Nautiyal. It will be a first time for the actress to feature in a music video of this genre
Titled '5 Shades of Love', the music video will be shot by filmmaker Anubhav Sinha. The album will have five music videos, two of which will be shot in London because of its romantic backdrop. Film-wise, Sonal Chauhan will be next seen in war drama 'Paltan', directed by JP Dutta
Sara's Simmba co-star Ranveer Singh was spotted at his club in Bandra. Ranveer Singh plays a flamboyant policeman, Sangram Bhalerao, in Rohit Shetty's directorial venture. "Having put in the work over [a] few years, I'm getting to be a leading man in Rohit sir's film. I regard him to be the finest proponent in the masala genre. He is the undisputed best in the business of masala entertainers. It could not be sweeter, it could not be better," said the actor in an interview
Ranveer Singh as played a gamut of roles since his Bollywood debut in 2010, but it is his love for masala entertainers that drew him to Bollywood. "Mainstream Hindi films, masala entertainers are the reason I ever wanted to become an actor. When I was a kid, I used to only watch these kind of films. It has been my education, it has been a part of my upbringing. So, it is a huge deal for me that I am finally doing something that is a true blue masala entertainer," Singh stated about his upcoming cop drama Simmba
This will be the first time that Ranveer Singh will try his hand at a mass comedy. He said in the interview that it is his home territory as he is a big fan of actor Govinda. "I'm a Govinda fan. Yes, I'm going to try my hand at mass comedy but I always thought this would be home territory for me because some of my favourite films that I have grown up watching are Govinda's films. Mass comedy is something that I thought I would be adept at," he said.
