Shraddha Kapoor was shooting for her upcoming film Batti Gul Meter Chalu at Film City in Goregaon, Mumbai. Shree Narayan Singh's film which stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha and Yami Gautam was earlier slated for a September 14th release, has now been postponed. The major parts of the film were shot in Tehri, Uttarakhand. Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a social drama based on the struggles of a common man against the power distribution companies over exorbitant electricity bills.

Apart from Shraddha Kapoor, Yami Gautam was also spotted on the sets of Batti Gul Meter Chalu. mid-day has learned it that Yami will take on Shahid Kapoor's character, also a lawyer, in the film, set in Uttarakhand
In a bid to get into the skin of the character, Gautam will interact with lawyers working in small towns, apart from visiting tehsil courts.

A source tells mid-day about the social drama based on escalating electricity bills, "Yami is training under renowned lawyers in the city to understand the business. Also, she will visit tehsil courts in the state to understand the set up. The primary case in the film, which involves Yami, will be fought in a district court. Local lawyers will give her an insight into how things function in small-town courts."
