    The Zoya Factor is about a Rajput girl named Zoya Singh Solanki who meets the Indian Cricket Team through her job as an executive in an advertising agency. Eventually, she ends up becoming a lucky charm for the team in the 2010 Cricket World Cup. Gradually, Zoya develops feelings for skipper Nikhil Khoda (played by Dulquer Salmaan) who doesn't believe in luck and superstitions.

    The Zoya Factor trailer which was released on August 29 chronicles the story of a girl named Zoya who took birth on the day India lifted the cup in 1983 and her dad asserting that she will be "world famous" someday. While she deals with the anomalies, not-so happening love and professional life, Zoya, who hates cricket, is tasked with shooting the men in blue in their new jersey. And as they say, love can strike you anytime, a chance encounter with the Indian cricket team makes Zoya fall for captain Nikhil Khoda (Dulquer Salmaan). he two-minute forty-six-second trailer shows Zoya soon hitting the headlines and earning monikers like 'Mata'.

When asked does something similar to her as well, Sonam Kapoor the trailer launch told reporters, "It depends on the person and their confidence level, how they feel about themselves... My father did films like 'Beta', 'Ladla' and 'Mr India', where women had prominent roles and he was a superstar at that time."

    Sonam Kapoor further added, "I have been brought up to think it doesn't matter as long as the role is amazing. But there were a few, like Dhanush, Dulquer, Rajkummar and Ayushamann, who I worked with in a couple of films. There are a lot of these men out there and they are all doing better than everybody else right now."
