  • Amidst the euphoria of India’s triumph at this year’s U-19 World Cup, we look back at cricketers who helped India win the Cup in 2000 and 2008
    Year 2000: Mohammad Kaif was the captain when India won their maiden U-19 World Cup title. He was drafted into the senior side pretty soon, and took world cricket by storm by leading India’s memorable chase at Lord’s in the final of the 2002 Natwest Trophy. His international career never quite took off though, partly due to his own poor efforts, but the selectors also played the part by not always treating him fairly. Seems far away from the selectors’ radar at the moment
