Shah Rukh Khan ringed in his 53rd birthday on November 2, and the actor unveiled the much-awaited trailer of his upcoming film Zero, directed by Aanand L Rai at a popular multiplex in Wadala, Mumbai. Actors Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif were also present at the trailer launch.

The makers of Zero released a solo poster of Shah Rukh Khan ahead of the trailer release. The Aanand L Rai directorial presents the story of Bauua, a vertically challenged man essayed by Shah Rukh Khan. Set against the backdrop of Meerut, Zero presents a unique as well as rooted story. Bringing back the super hit trio of Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, Zero offers interesting performances with an unconventional storyline.
During the trailer launch, Shah Rukh Khan said: "Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma had the dream of making this film. They had this believed in this film. Without them, this would never happen. Katrina and Anushka lost confidence backstage, I keep losing my confidence. But these two people were beside us as our support and let this happen."
The makers of the film took the event a notch higher by recreating Meerut city and establishing Ghanta Ghar along with the colourful fun and fair set up which also featured food joints and game stalls at the multiplex.
Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif - the lead actors of the Aanand L Rai's movie, Zero were all smiles during the trailer launch. Talking about working with SRK, Anushka and Katrina, Aanand said: "This is a film about winning and not losing. The title is zero because we take things for granted. Be it any relationship, this is a story about a person's win."
The entire cast of the film also had media interaction. Shah Rukh Khan was asked when does he feel like Bauua, the character of the film. The actor said: "I feel like a loser in every situation. Every day there is a moment when you feel like a zero... AbRam denied coming to me when I called him, and I felt like a zero. I always feel I am not good enough. I am not good at everything. So, I have to keep improving."
Talking about the character, Anushka Sharma said: "I'm playing a character who has a cerebral palsy. I used to get up from the wheelchair only for lunch. I'm happy I got this opportunity. I have tried doing something that is different and I would feel very challenged and keep asking myself whether I've done justice. I never felt this nervous before doing this film."
Talking asked about his character Bauua in the film Zero, Shah Rukh Khan said: "For me, it was easy to play a dwarf. It was difficult for Anushka to catch the detailing of it. VFX team and cinematographer gave us much freedom to give our expressions. We did not bind the other actors."

The actor further added: "The first time, when I saw the teaser, we thought we have a lot of freedom. It's been eased off due to VFX team. We did not want to make this film, we wanted to live it. It's the same about life. Live it to the fullest. I give the same advice to my children. Believe in the goodness of life it will reward you again and again."

Shah Rukh Khan also spoke about racism and his character dwarf: "We are very quick to judge. I feel I could be someone to give positivity because I have lived my dream. It's not that I was talented. Virat and Sachin, Dilip Saab had a God's gift.

The actor continued: "I did not have the talent of acting. People said you're dark, the nose isn't sharp, I don't have those looks of an actor. The judgemental nature that we have we should stop and think about how wonderful we are."
When the actor was asked how did her bag the role of a dwarf, SRK said: "Aanand did not ask many people for my character. Salman called me up and said there's a film and you should do it. he also gave suggestions about how do we do a few scenes and that's the reason he did this song. He wanted to be a part of it. It was tough and unusual. The natural equation you have and the equation you will have to have with the character, difficult. He's got such a lively personality, joy and passion. it was tricky and make sure to keep in mind that he is a dwarf."

Katrina Kaif, who plays the role of an alcoholic artist in the movie, talks about her character: "In this character, the only inspiration was Aanand L Rai, Himanshu sir and Shah Rukh Khan. I have derived all my inspiration from them. It did not come from outside actors specific from any country. It was just up to me to process and execute it."

Zero is a story that celebrates life, the first look of the film featured Shah Rukh Khan as the adorable vertically challenged man piquing the interests of the audience to witness the unusual tale. When the first look posters of Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif were released it broke the internet.
