Iran's foreign ministry also said attacks by its ally Hamas on Israel were an act of self-defence by Palestinians. Oman issued a statement claiming the situation was a result of “continued illegal Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories”. Saudi Arabia also took a stance in support of the “legitimate rights of the Palestinian people”.
