Russian President Putin urges Israel, Hamas to minimize civilian casualties

The all-out-war of Israel against the Palestinian terror group Hamas entered day 6 on October 12. In retaliation to Hamas’ atrocities on Israeli soil, Israel Defence Forces continued to pummel Palestinian terror assets in Gaza. Meanwhile, Russian President Putin expressed his concern over the loss of civilian lives. He also urged both sides to aim for minimum loss of civilian population including women, children. Russian Prez’s remarks come at a time when Hamas’ indiscriminate massacring of children in Israel was confirmed by US Prez Biden. Hamas launched a "surprise attack" on Israel on October 07, firing a barrage of rockets into the country. In retaliation, Israel is leaving no stone unturned to avenge the death of Israelis killed by Hamas terror group. As per Israel Defence Forces, the number of Israelis killed during Hamas' invasion over the weekend rose to 1,200.

Indian army safely evacuates civilians in Manipur, HM Amit Shah visits the state

A day after fresh clashes erupted in several parts of Northeastern state Manipur, The Indian Army and Assam Rifles remained committed to undertaking people-friendly operations. The Indian soldiers also made sure the safety of Manipuri citizens and evacuated thousands of villagers from the clash-hit areas. Indian Army had deployed mine-protected vehicles, and area domination patrols were put in place to ensure safe and incident-free evacuation. After being safely evacuated, the villagers expressed gratitude to the Indian soldiers. Manipur has been under the severe grip of violent clashes since May 3. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on May 29 chaired a meeting with Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and ministers of the state, senior leaders and officials here to assess the situation and plan further steps to restore normalcy in the region.

PM Modi conferred with highest civilian awards in Fiji, Papua New Guinea

In a rare honour for a non-Fijian, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred the country’s highest civilian award, the Companion of the Order of Fiji, in recognition of his global leadership on Monday.  Fiji’s Prime Minster Sitiveni Rabuka presented PM Modi with a medallion for the title when the two leaders met in Papua New Guinea.  Papua New Guinea also conferred PM Modi with their highest civilian award on May 22. He was given the accolade for championing the cause of unity of Pacific Island countries and spearheading the cause of Global South. Earlier in the day, the Indian Prime Minister held talks with his Papua New Guinea counterpart, James Marape, and took stock of their bilateral relations. The two leaders also discussed ways to further augment cooperation in areas like commerce, technology, healthcare and climate change.

Terror Attacks In J&K, 4 Civilians Killed

As many as four people were killed and six others were injured in a terror attack in Rajouri. The security forces launched an operation to neutralize terrorists who attacked three houses in Dangri area of Jammu and Kashmir, Police said on Monday.  On the other hand, a grenade was hurled targeting a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) vehicle in Srinagar on Sunday night. The incident occurred at MK Chowk in Srinagar. However, the grenade missed the target and caused injury to a local boy. In Rajouri, a firing incident was reported in Dangri area on Sunday. Four people were killed and six injured, police reported. The firing was done by two terrorists at three houses separated at a distance of around 50 metres from each other at upper Dangri village.  Meanwhile, two injured were airlifted to Jammu for further treatment at Government Medical College Hospital."As per the information, two terrorists came and targeted three houses in Upper Dangri area. Four casualties were reported. The search operation is on. Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Army troops have cordoned off the area. We will try to neutralize the two terrorists soon," said Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone.  The grenade attack took place near the crowded area of MK Chowk. "There was an attempt to throw a grenade on a CRPF vehicle in a crowded area of MK Chowk, Srinagar. It missed the target and caused a minor splinter injury to one local boy. Operations were launched in the area to nab the culprit," said Srinagar Police.
