Kolkata Knight Riders beat the Titans by 99 runs in their last 2012 Champions League T20 encounter here last night. Having posted an impressive 188, the Indian Premier League side bundled out the Titans for just 89 runs in 16.4 overs. Jacques Rudolph (24-ball 25) was the top-scorer even as eight of the Titans batsmen ended up with single-digit scores. Lakshmipathy Balaji with four for 19 was the pick of the KKR bowlers.

Earlier, skipper Gautam Gambhir made the most of the team’s last 2012 CLT20 appearance by top-scoring with a 36-ball 44 (four fours and a six). Brendon McCullum and Debabrata Das also made valuable contributions — 36 and 43 respectively. After scoring 107 runs in the first 10 overs, KKR lost wickets at regular intervals but still managed to score 81 runs off the last 10. Das got his 43 off just 19 balls.
