Construction of Ganesha idol in full swing ahead of 'Ganesh Chaturthi'

Hundreds of artisans are working day and night to construct a giant Lord Ganesha statue in Telangana's capital city Hyderabad. The massive preparations come ahead of the holy festival of 'Ganesh Chaturthi'. Artistes from various parts of country have teamed up to execute the 57-feet idol. The giant idol is made of Plaster of Paris (PoP) on a steel frame. It is decorated with vibrant colours to draw thousands of devotees, who donate money to construct the idol. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in honour of Hindu god Ganesha, considered the deity of prosperity
