Let us have a look at the major hit-and-run cases in India where the offenders have violated rules to the core: The latest one being the Mercedes hit-and-run case in Delhi's posh Civil Lines area where a juvenile hit a marketing executive while on a night out with his friends. Actor Salman Khan killed one and injured four others while driving under the influence of alcohol as he ran over his speeding car on the pavement of a road in Mumbai's Bandra area 13 years ago. Sanjeev Nanda, then a Wharton Business School student, and the son of industrialist Suresh Nanda ran his car over six people, including three policemen, in Gurgaon in 1999.
