PM Narendra Modi: GDP dipped to 5.7% or below 8 times during UPA rule

Hitting out at critics over spreading fear among people seeing the current economic condition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asserted that there were eight instances within six years when the country's GDP dwindled at or below 5.7 percent. Prime Minister Modi was addressing a group of company secretaries during a programme marking the golden jubilee year of Institute of Company Secretaries of India
